What are we recruiting for?

We’re looking for an experienced and proactive Maintenance Manager to lead a dedicated engineering team within a busy metal finishing and manufacturing environment. This is a key leadership position where you’ll drive reliability, efficiency, and safety across all plant maintenance operations — ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity.

What will you be doing?

As Maintenance Manager, you’ll oversee a team of multi-skilled engineers and contractors, coordinating maintenance, repair, and improvement activities across multiple production lines. You’ll take ownership of the site’s Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) systems, ensuring compliance with quality and environmental standards (IATF 16949 and ISO 14001).

• Leading and supervising the engineering and maintenance teams
• Managing plant maintenance and repair to minimise downtime
• Planning and allocating resources efficiently to meet production targets
• Overseeing parts procurement, stock control, and budget management
• Delivering regular reports on downtime, performance, and energy usage
• Driving continuous improvement and safety initiatives across the site
• Occasionally supporting maintenance activities outside standard hours

What will you bring to the party?

• At least 7 years’ experience in a maintenance management role within manufacturing or heavy industry
• City & Guilds Level 3 or above, HND, or Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
• Proven experience managing engineering teams and maintenance operations
• A solid understanding of PPM systems and regulatory compliance
• Excellent organisational, leadership, and problem-solving skills
• A proactive, resilient, and safety-conscious attitude
