What are we recruiting for?

We’re looking for a proactive Maintenance Team Leader to join a leading food manufacturing business based in Stonehouse, Gloucestershire. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who loves solving problems, driving improvements, and leading a skilled engineering team within a fast-paced production environment

What will you be doing?

• Leading, supporting, and developing a multi-skilled maintenance team to deliver exceptional engineering performance.
• Ensuring all planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities are delivered on time and to the highest standard.
• Responding effectively to breakdowns, diagnosing root causes, and implementing long-term solutions.
• Prioritising and coordinating daily workload across the engineering team.
• Driving continuous improvement across equipment reliability, site performance, and engineering processes.
• Ensuring compliance with all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborating closely with production, technical, and operations teams to minimise downtime and optimise plant availability.
• Contributing to capital projects and supporting equipment upgrades and installations.

What will you bring to the party?

• A strong engineering background— multi-skilled—ideally within FMCG or a fast-moving manufacturing environment.
• Proven experience leading or supervising an engineering/maintenance team.
• Great communication skills, able to engage and motivate people at all levels.
• A proactive mindset with a passion for problem-solving and continuous improvement.
• Solid understanding of planned maintenance systems and engineering compliance.
• Confidence in making decisions, prioritising workloads, and keeping calm under pressure.
